This is a quick guide on how to program BMW E46 EWS3 key using Xhorse VVDI2 + VVDI PROG. This requires you to remove the EWS3 module from the vehicle. Follow the steps below to learn.

Step 1. Read EEPROM via VVDI PROG

Connect EWS3, XDPG09EN adapter & VVDI PROG.

Open VVDI PROG software and select options.

Type: 4 Immobilizer

Fire: BMW

Chip: EWS3-KLINE(0D46J)_Read

Click "Read".

Operation successful.

Click "Save".

EEPROM file saved successfully.

Step 2. Program Transponder via VVDI 2

Remove VVDI PROG and connect it to VVDI 2.

Insert the key you want to program into the VVDI 2 Programmer key slot.

Open VVDI 2 software,

Transponder Programmer >> Transponder Auto Detect >> Immobilizer Data Tool

Area: Euro

Factory: BMW

Car Name: EWS3

Type: EWS3

Load EEPROM Dump >> Select Unused Key Position: Key6 >> Create Dealer Key >> PCF7930(PCF 7931, PCF7935, ELM)

Prepare Dealer Key Success. Now you can start the engine with the key.

Put the EWS module back into the vehicle and assemble it, test the key.
